Your Generosity Strengthens Our Community
At Packard Health, every gift, whether large or small, helps ensure that compassionate, high-quality care is available to everyone in Washtenaw County, regardless of their ability to pay. Each year, more than 15,000 active patients rely on us for primary care, behavioral health support, addiction treatment, resource navigation, and essential health services.

When you give, you make this possible.
Your support fuels more than 41,000 total visits each year, including children receiving wellness checks, seniors managing chronic conditions, people experiencing homelessness getting the care they deserve, and families finding stability through our food access and community support programs.
Together, we build a healthier, more equitable future for our neighbors.

IRA and Retirement Gifts
Making a gift from your IRA is a tax-efficient way to support Packard Health while meeting your financial goals.
- Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a QCD, a direct gift from your IRA to Packard Health. Once you reach age 73, a QCD can satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). Unlike regular withdrawals, QCDs are excluded from taxable income.
- Beneficiary Designation You can also name Packard Health as a beneficiary of your IRA. Because retirement assets are often taxed when inherited by individuals, designating a charitable beneficiary can be a wise and impactful choice.
Packard Health can provide transfer details and work with you or your advisor to ensure a smooth process.

Endowed Gifts
Establishing or contributing to an endowment is one of the most powerful ways to support Packard Health in perpetuity. Endowments are permanent funds where the principal is invested, and only annual earnings are used, providing a stable, reliable source of support year after year.
If you wish to create an endowment, Packard Health will partner with you and the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation (AAACF) to create an endowment that benefits Packard’s vital mission. The endowment will be held at the AAACF and professionally managed by its investment committee. Donors may contribute to existing endowment funds or work with AAACF to establish a new named fund that reflects their personal values or honors a loved one.
Endowment funds grow over time and distribute earnings in accordance with the AAACF’s spending policy (currently 5% of the rolling 16-quarter average), ensuring steady support for Packard Health’s mission regardless of market fluctuations.
Simple Gifts from Your Will or Estate
Many people assume legacy giving is only for the wealthy, but anyone can make a meaningful impact through a planned gift. A bequest in your will, designating a percentage of your estate, or naming Packard Health as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy are all simple, accessible ways to leave a legacy.
These gifts reflect your values, not your wealth, and help ensure that Packard Health continues delivering compassionate care for generations.
A gift through your will is one of the easiest and most meaningful ways to ensure that compassionate, high-quality healthcare remains available to everyone in our community—today and for future generations. Many supporters choose this option because it costs nothing now, is flexible, and allows them to make a lasting impact regardless of their estate size.
By including Packard Health in your will, you extend your values of care, dignity, and equity far into the future.
